Schon ’n hübsches Kerlchen, die neue GS und siehe Scheinwerfer&Co-Design:
Normal geht halt nicht bei denen…
Und bei den Radarflächen scheinen den Designern die Ideen ausgegangen zu sein!

It’s a pretty little guy, the new GS and look at the headlights and co-design:
Normal doesn’t work for them…
And the designers seem to have run out of ideas for the radar surfaces!

Oder ist das etwa noch ein Prototyp – natürlich nicht!
Aber die Heckradarfläche ist optisch fast noch schrecklicher als die der Front ausgefallen!
Von der Erkennbarkeit der Blinker während des Bremsens und umgekehrt ganz zu schweigen…

Or is this still a prototype – of course not!
But the rear radar surface is visually almost even more terrible than that of the front!
Not to mention the visibility of the indicators while braking and vice versa…

…könnte auch eine 750er sein, so zierlich wirkt sie…

Hier noch mit dem unsäglichen Garmin Navigator.
Hoffentlich haben die BMW-Mädels und Jungs
beim ihrem „Connected Ride Navigator“ aus den Garmin-Problemen gelernt!

Und Yeah, jetzt gibt’s die GS auch mit Sportanzeige!
Ja, keine Sorge: Mit einem fremden Motorrad mach‘ ich keine Schräglagenexperimente
(Nach dem Fototermin wurden bei unangestrengtem Fahren dann noch 43° draus…)

Hopefully the BMW girls and boys have learned from the Garmin problems with their
“Connected Ride Navigator”!

And yeah, now the GS is also available with a sports display!
Yes, don’t worry: I don’t do lean angle experiments with someone else’s motorcycle
(After the photo session it turned out to be 43° when driving effortlessly…)

Nur zur Klarstellung – wir sind halt alle große Kinder:
Mit meiner 1250 GS kommen dann ungewollt
und bei abendlicher Ansicht manchmal für einen 72 jährigen
erstaunliche Zahlen zustande…
Und ja: Ich bin kein Drehzahl-, vmax-, und Beschleunigungsfreak –
ich mag Surfen und Schräglagen!
Siehe auch mein durchschnittlicher Verbrauch: 4,4l/100km

Just to clarify – we’re all big kids after all:
With my 1250 GS, unintentionally and when viewed in the evening,
I sometimes get surprising numbers for a 72 year old…
And yes: I’m not a speed, vmax and acceleration freak – I like surfing and lean angles

Bei aller Meckerei: Ein tolles Gesamtpaket!

Despite all the complaining: a great overall package!

Sie hat hinten halt „kein Gesicht“…

She just has „no face“ at the back…

Und vorne ein gewöhnungsbedürftiges…

Der Acrapovic-Schalldämpfer ist gottseidank kein Krawallbruder!

Thank goodness the Acrapovic silencer is not a riot brother!

Das hübsche und kräftige Motorchen schon eher, obwohl:
Wahrscheinlich sind die gegenüber der 1250 GS deutlich mehr vernehmlicheren
metallisch harten Klapper- und Scheppergeräusche eher dem Anriebsstrang mit Kupplung
als ausschließlich dem Motor geschuldet.
Schade, ich habe erwartet, daß man bei BMW diesem Thema mehr Aufmerksamkeit widmet…

The pretty and powerful engine is more like it, although:
They are probably much more audible than the 1250 GS
Hard metal rattling and rattling noises are more likely to be attributed to the drive train with clutch
as being due solely to the engine.
It’s a shame, I expected that BMW would pay more attention to this topic…

Und dann haben sie jetzt auch noch das Getriebe wieder geradeverzahnt…
Andererseits: Die Dinger laufen ja „ewig“ – Schepperei hin oder her…

And then they have now straight-toothed the gearbox again…
On the other hand: These things run „forever“ – mess or not…

Form follows Function: Nicht nur optisch ein echter Leckerbissen!

Form follows function: A real treat not just visually!

Das will ich haben:
Das sehr gelungene geschmiedete Alurad: Laut BMW 1,6 kg leichter ( Beide Räder oder eines? )
Neben der allgemeinen Fzg.-Gewichtsreduzierung noch zwei wichtige Vorteile:

– Verringerung der ungefederten Massen ( Besseres Ansprechen von Federung und Dämpfung )
– Reduzierung der Radkreiselkräfte ( u.a. verbessertes Einlenken, Verbesserung des allgemeinen Handlings )

I want that:
The very successful forged aluminum wheel: According to BMW, 1.6 kg lighter (both wheels or one?)
In addition to the general vehicle weight reduction, there are two important advantages:

– Reduction of unsprung masses (better response of suspension and damping)
– Reduction of wheel gyroscopic forces (including improved steering, improvement of general handling)
